2017 Surgical Trip
It was a great trip! We stayed at the Village, where accommodations are a bit better than the usual, but we missed spending time with the girls we’ve become so close with at the orphanage. We did get the chance to throw the girls a birthday party and they had so much fun – they are a beautiful example of the precious lives we get to touch when we make these trips!
In addition to the partying, we did plenty of surgeries! We saw a variety of cases each day, totaling around 40 by the end of the trip. It was all hands on deck on this trip and no one had any trouble staying busy, as we were blessed with some new team members this year (all jumping right in and doing an amazing job!). Some amazing team members from the November Urology trip joined us and we instantly knew they were a huge asset, and watching some of our first-timers grow and serve is always inspiring to us.
We love seeing new people come with us – we know they think they are there to do change lives and it never fails that they are the ones who are changed.
It was such a great week and we honored that God would allow us to serve in this way – next year can’t come soon enough!
2016 Medical Trip
2016 Urology Trip
IAM’s first urology specific surgical trip was a success. Thanks to the services of Georgia Urologist, David Banks, we were able to treat 12 patients with chronic urinary retention due to enlarged prostates, relieve symptoms of a man with advanced prostate cancer and cure a young man with a urological complication. All patients are reportedly doing well and are on their way to a life-changing recovery. We give all the praise to God for orchestrating a team of such amazing, hard-working individuals, and we look forward to working with the urology team again on future surgical trips. We are already planning the next urology trip for the 2018.
